He's 21 weeks along now and so active. We went to the ultrasound yesterday -- the baby looks just like Doua, Chloe and Logan! lol. Doua's got some strong genes... even in the womb, his baby looks like him. I was secretly hoping it'd be a girl. I had a name picked out and was so excited about bringing out those cute cute outfits of Chloe's that I had saved up. I'll never ever give them away for they hold too much of a sentimental value to me. I've decided to pack them away for a long time, then hopefully one day I'll get to present them to her as a babyshower gift when she has her first daughter. Doua and I were talking about this yesterday -- and he told me how excited he is to have Logan wear his boyscout outfit that he kept from the time he was ten.
Doua's such a pack rat, but that's one of the things I love about him. I'm so lucky to have the pleasure of learning about my husband's childhood, not only through his pictures and stories, but also experiencing it through the many wonderful tangible treasures he's kept. He still has the journals, poems and stories that he's written from first, second and third grade. He still has all of his boyscout trophies, badges and animal skins - among other things. His most prized possession, however, is his big collection of those Garbage Pail Kids cards (like two cartons full). Do you guys remember those? I told him that in about thirty years, we'll take them to the Antique Roadshow and might even get about $100 from them. He just laughed, and said that the bigger value in it is being able to share with his kids the things that he likes to do when he was their age.
Anyway, back on subject -- our new son. I don't even know what to call him yet. We'd usually come up with a name by now. Boys names are so hard... or rather I think it was because I had already mentally prepared myself for a girl. But hey, Logan'll have a buddy for life now. And Chloe and I will continue to enjoy our girl dates. We're all very excited for our new baby. I'm excited to call my family complete once and for all. I only have four chambers in my heart, and they are all occupied! Here's the first photos of our little boy:
